Five superfoods to make a super you!
A lot of good and healthy food choices are out there, and you may need to whittle down the list of the top superfoods you eat regularly. In fact, the top five are those which are tasty, easy to incorporate in to many different dishes and are easy to find.
The first superfood is nuts. Known for having good fat and being rich in anti-oxidants, you can find multiple uses for peanuts, pecans, macadamia nuts and even cashews in your daily diet.
The second superfood is quinoa. Technically part of the leafy green vegetable family, this grain-like seed can be cooked up and added to salads, soups and stews for a nutty goodness and high concentrations of zinc and Vitamin E.
The third food on the list are beans. The legume family, from dark red kidney beans for chili to chickpeas for salads, can give you a boost of vitamins and minerals such as magnesium and potassium; and they are high in fiber as well. Beans are a hearty and versatile food that can be satisfying enough to use as the basis of a main dish or entree.
The fourth food is yogurt. Yogurt has naturally occurring good bacteria which is essential in digestive and colon health, which can lead to better skin, hair and nails.
The fifth superfood is berries. Strawberries, cranberries, blueberries and raspberries are all sweet, tangy and tasty treats you can use for salads and desserts. The high amount of Vitamin C and antioxidant properties of berries help rank them as one superfood good for fighting off cancer and aiding in cell regeneration.
