10 questions with Rachelle >
1. How did you first get started in the field of Aesthetic Medicine?
Twelve years ago while I was living in Seattle, Washington, I worked part-time in a Cosmetic Dermatology Clinic and absolutely fell in love with the field! I knew then that I would eventually change career paths and work in aesthetics full-time.
So glad I did!
2. Do you have a favorite product to inject?
That’s like picking a favorite kid!
Honestly, what I love most is that I’m not limited. Sometimes I’ll use three different types of filler during the same treatment. I love to tailor each patient’s experience to their exact aesthetic needs.
3. What is the one skincare or beauty product you can’t live without?
Now this one’s easy. Definitely SkinMedica’s TNS Advanced Serum.
It’s basically an anti-aging powerhouse. I use it daily.
4. Will you share your morning skincare routine with us?
Of course!
I start by cleansing my face with Alastin’s Gentle Cleanser and then I follow that with SkinMedica’s TNS, then I apply a light layer of SkinMedica’s HA⁵® Rejuvenating Hydrator, and then finish it all off with Revision’s DEJ Eye Cream.
This routine keeps my skin feeling fresh, exfoliated and hydrated.
5. What does ‘natural beauty’ mean to you?
Natural beauty to me is more of a feeling than a thing.
I believe we should all aim to age wisely and healthily, both inside and out.
I also think it’s incredibly important to view aging with the right perspective. It’s a gift, no matter how you look at it.
6. What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
That I’m fairly flexible. I don’t mean to brag, but… I can do a split.!
7. Do you have any advice for other nurses trying to get in to the aesthetics industry?
Never become complacent.
Put yourself out there and attend as many aesthetic classes/trainings that you can get your hands on.
8. What do you find most inspiring?
Travel- specifically internationally.
I think it’s incredibly important to immerse yourself in different cultures and experience life outside of your typical day-to-day. To truly experience a new place is both humbling and inspiring.
9. What do you love the most about working/living in Portland, Oregon?
The people! I feel like I could be friends with all my patients.
10. What is your favorite part about your work day at Skin by Lovely?
I look forward to seeing my Skin by Lovely crew! It’s like going to a “positive girl party” every day. The energy is very empowering.
