Is KYBELLA® permanent?

Here’s the honest answer we give every patient: KYBELLA® destroys fat cells in the treated area, and those specific cells are gone, your body doesn’t grow them back. What that means day to day is that the area holds onto far less fat than it used to. The nuance worth understanding is that a meaningful change in your weight can still plump up whatever cells remain, so your jawline looks its sharpest when your weight stays roughly steady. Is KYBELLA® FDA-approved and safe?

Yes. KYBELLA® was FDA-approved in 2015 for submental fullness and is considered safe for most healthy adults 21 and over. It isn’t recommended during pregnancy or nursing, or for those allergic to lidocaine.
