Jawline dermal filler is perfect for anyone wanting an elongated or “snatched” (tight and defined) look in their lower face. Filler is ideal for a person who has lost volume along the jawline or chin over the years.
For a patient that has heaviness or laxity in their lower face, other treatments such as Kybella, Botox, or Sculptra should be considered.
At Skin by Lovely, we prefer to use a filler that is firm and robust in the jawline that is similar to what you’d use in the cheeks. Restylane Lyft, Juvederm Voluma, or Radiesse are great products for the jawline and chin.
It really depends on each person’s anatomy to determine which treatment combinations best suit their needs.
Kybella is a fat dissolver and will address a double chin or full jowls due to fatty tissue.
Dermal filler will replace the lack of bone or muscle making the skin tauter and adding that distinct jaw edge.
By placing a neuromodulator along the jawline or in the neckbands, the platysma muscles will pull up and in; thus, giving the illusion of definition and a slimmer neckline.
Jawline dermal filler procedures take about 40 minutes.
If other treatments are added, plan to set aside an hour.
This also really depends on the patient’s anatomy. If the person is lacking volume in the chin, I would use a deep needle injection with filler to replace volume.
For definition along the jawline to the mandibular angle (bony corner below the ear), I like using a cannula (a long, blunt, and flexible needle) to disperse the product.
The patient is awake the entire time! Many fillers have lidocaine to make the procedure more comfortable. We will also use ice and other distraction techniques to help ease any discomfort.

This depends on the product used and person, but typically anywhere from 1 to 2+ years.

I wouldn’t say it hurt at all! They numb the area prior so you honestly shouldn’t feel much. I would rate it 2/10 for pain.
Definitely worth it! Rachel was very gentle and made sure I was comfortable the whole time.
The only side effects I encountered were light bruising in one area and slight swelling, which went away after a few days.
I was very careful to not sleep on my sides for a few days to ensure I didn’t disrupt the filler, but I don’t think it would have even if I did. I went straight back to filming videos within 3-4 days!
I love my results! The dermal filler has kept its form and lasted perfectly. Even now, 7 months later, my jawline is still defined and looks amazing!
