Have you tried multiple procedures to improve texture, fine lines and even scars on your skin?
Many patients I see state they have tried neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport, multiple peels, and various creams, but are not quite ready to dive into lasers. My advice and recommendation to these patients is to try the latest and greatest Eclipse Micropen.
The Micropen works by using fine needles to make micro-injuries or micro-trauma on your skin, stimulating and increasing the natural production of collagen by your body. The depth of the needle and number of treatments depends on the area of concern and goals of the patient. Not only does the Micropen target fine lines and texture, it can also help with acne scarring, stretch marks, large pore sizes, minor blemishes, and non-keloid scars. The effects of the Micropen can be smoother, firmer, younger looking skin that gives the appearance of a glowing, refreshed look.
Patients always ask what they can expect during and after the procedure. If you are considering the Micropen procedure, plan on showing up to the clinic with a clean face so the provider can fully examine your areas of concern. The provider will start by placing a topical anesthetic on the area being treated to provide you with more comfort. Once the anesthetic has kicked in, the provider will place a lubricating gel on the area so the Micropen can glide with ease. The provider will pass over the area of concern three times with the Micropen tip. After the procedure, recovery time is minimal. You may experience redness, tenderness, tightness and possibly slight swelling. Redness will clear 3-24 hours after the procedure.
Depending on the area being treated and the goals of the patient, one treatment or a series of treatments may be recommended by the provider. If a series of treatments is recommended, expect it to consist of 3-6 treatments at 4-8 weeks apart.
Picking an experienced provider who you feel comfortable with is key, so I encourage you to do your research. Treatment plans and results vary from patient to patient, so it’s important to pick a provider that can give you a full consultation and address any question or concerns you may have.
