  • 3-5 days prior to your Kybella treatment we would like you to avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) as well as other NSAIDS like Aleve and steroids. It is also recommended to stop taking vitamin E, St. Johns Wart, red wine and fish oil supplements
  • Be sure to inform your provider of any medical history changes, difficulty swallowing, infections, allergies, neck pathologies, lymph swelling, thyroid enlargement or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or chestfeeding.
  • The bodies inflammatory response is very important for the best outcome. This means we expect and want to see swelling (typically lasts 3 to 10 days)!
  • DON’T worry, the swelling is a normal part of the process and will come down.
  • Plan your procedure for a time that you can have some downtime for swelling and possible bruising.
  • Ice can be helpful in managing any mild pain.
  • You may also experience bruising and numbness. The numbness may last for several weeks.
  • The treated area may feel firm when touched, this is normal as your body works to eliminate the fat cells through the natural inflammatory process.
  • Immediately after your treatment you should expect swelling, redness and pain. You may have some bruising, tenderness and numbness as well. This is normal! Each day that passes your symptoms should improve gradually and may last up to 14 days.
  • Do not take anti-inflammatory medication 3-5 days after treatment.
  • Do not touch, massage or apply pressure to the treatment area.
  • Keep your head above your heart for 4 hours and avoid saunas for 6 hours.
  • Limit strenuous activity for 24 hours and then resume daily activities.
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated the night following the procedure to help reduce excessive swelling.
  • You may apply your normal skin care regimen and sunscreen.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid Retin-A, Glycolic Acid or any irritating products for 4 days following the procedure.
  • If you experience bruising apply INhance Post-Injection Serum to the area or take Bromelain 200mg to speed up healing
