[two_third]Botox InjectionHi, today we’re going to talk about swelling and bruising. Patients often come in and ask what’s the risk of them to swell and bruise. Anytime you’re sticking a needle into a vascular area, such as the face, you run the risk of swelling and bruising.

A few things that you can do to avoid swelling and bruising before you come in for a Botox or Fillers┬átreatment is to avoid alcohol 24 hours in advance, avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours in advance, stop any type of NSAID, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, anything like that, and don’t take any vitamin E.

If a patient does happen to bruise, there’s a few things that we recommend for them. First off to start is the Arnica cream as well as the Arnica patches that we sell here at Skin By Lovely. As well, as you can ice the area and avoid exercising again for 24 hours after the treatment. And if the bruise is really large, black and blue, there’s also a V-beam laser that we can send patients to as well.
