To get the best out of your treatment, please follow these pre and post care instructions.

Pre-treatment Instructions & Expectations

To make the most out of your upcoming microneedling with PRF treatment, please follow our pre-treatment instructions.

We cannot treat if: pregnant, nursing, diagnosis of any hematological disorder, or currently using Accutane. **Please get clearance from your physician if you have a history of autoimmune, neurological or psychological disorders. Do NOT stop taking any prescribed anticoagulants for this procedure unless cleared by your prescribing practitioner**

Please avoid and call us if:

  1. Any topical hydroquinone, retinol, or exfoliating acids used within the last week.
  2. Alcohol beverages within 72 hours of treatment
  3. Anticoagulants or NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen, etc.) taken within at least 1 week prior to treatment (blood thinners extend bruising severity & time and will also lead to subpar treatment outcomes). The longer you can avoid taking these medications, the better!
  4. Significant event (i.e. wedding, photo shoot) within two weeks after treatment as it can take up to 2 weeks for redness, dryness, or bruising to subside.
  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink at least 64 oz of water and eat a good snack before coming to prepare for the blood draw.
  • Avoid Omega 3s, Turmeric, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements for 7 days prior.
  • NO alcoholic beverages for at least 72 hours prior. *including red wine*.
  • Pre-treatment of the skin with Alastin Skin Regenerating Nectar 1 week before treatment can help reduce post-treatment redness and irritation.
  • Please come to your treatment with no make-up or skincare on.
  • Immediately after you will be red and flushed, similar to a sunburn. This is expected and should resolve in 3-5 days.
  • Your skin may be swollen, dry, and tight, with slight sloughing. This is normal and should resolve within 3-7days.
  • This treatment usually requires a series to see best results and can be repeated every 4 weeks.
