First, a quick and honest note:
We don’t currently offer Jeuveau at Skin by Lovely. We get asked about it often though, so we built this page to explain what it is, how it works and how it compares to the wrinkle relaxers we do offer: Botox, Dysport and Daxxify. If you came here researching your options, you’re in the right place. Our injectors are happy to talk you through the differences at a free consultation.
WHAT JEUVEAU IS
A cosmetic-first take on a familiar molecule.
Jeuveau, made by Evolus, is a botulinum toxin type A injectable, the same family of wrinkle relaxer as Botox, Dysport and Daxxify. What sets it apart is that it was developed specifically for cosmetic use rather than adapted from a medical treatment. It works the way the whole category does; it temporarily relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, so the skin above them softens and smooths.
Jeuveau earned FDA approval in 2019 for moderate to severe frown lines, the vertical “11s” between the brows. In clinical studies some patients saw it take effect quickly and hold for a typical few months.
HOW IT COMPARES
Same category, different personalities.
Every wrinkle relaxer in this family relaxes muscle in more or less the same way, but the formulas differ in small ways that can matter for how fast they kick in and how they feel. Here’s the short version of how Jeuveau sits next to the tox we offer.
Botox is the original and the most studied, with a long track record across dozens of treatment areas. It’s the benchmark most other tox get compared to.
Dysport tends to spread a little more from each injection point, which can make it a nice fit for larger areas like the forehead. Some patients feel it sets in fast.
Daxxify is the standout for longevity, built on a peptide-based formula that can hold results longer than the rest for some patients. It’s the one to ask about if you want to stretch the time between appointments.
Jeuveau sits closest to Botox in how it behaves and was purpose-built for aesthetics. We don’t carry it, so your injector will help you find whichever of our three gives you the result you’re after.
The honest truth is that in skilled hands the difference between these products matters far less than who’s holding the syringe. Dosing, placement and a plan built around your face do most of the work.
